UV Glass Printing: Uses, Design Ideas and Care

Plain clear glass is functional, but printed glass is decorative. UV glass printing lets you put almost any design, logo, pattern or photograph onto glass. It is now one of the most popular ways to personalise doors, partitions, wardrobes and kitchen backsplashes.

What is UV glass printing?

A UV flatbed printer prints ink directly onto the glass surface and cures it instantly under ultraviolet light. Because the ink is cured rather than left to air-dry, the print is sharp, bonded to the glass and resistant to everyday wear. You can print full colour, gradients, textures and even raised 3D effects.

Where printed glass looks best

  • Wardrobe and cabinet shutters: a printed glass front adds a premium look without adding weight.
  • Kitchen backsplashes: easy to wipe clean and available in any pattern.
  • Partitions and cabin walls: add privacy while keeping light flowing.
  • Main doors and pooja room doors: traditional motifs or modern patterns.
  • Shop signage and branding: logos and product graphics directly on glass doors.
  • Wall panels and headboards: large-format feature walls.

Design ideas that work

  • Frosted or gradient prints for bathroom and office privacy
  • Marble and stone textures for kitchens and living rooms
  • Botanical and geometric patterns for modern interiors
  • Temple and traditional art for pooja rooms
  • Your shop logo and contact details on shopfront glass

Choosing the right glass for printing

For anything that people touch or lean on, print on toughened glass so it is safe and durable. Order the glass, finalise the size and holes, toughen it first, and print afterwards. Printing on the back (second) surface keeps the design protected behind the glass.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with a soft, damp microfibre cloth and mild glass cleaner.
  • Avoid abrasive pads, scrapers and harsh chemicals.
  • Avoid direct, constant water spray on edges for long periods.
  • Wipe spills quickly, especially in kitchens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is UV printed glass scratch-resistant?
The cured ink is durable for everyday use, and printing on the back surface protects it behind the glass. Avoid abrasive pads and scrapers when cleaning.
Can I print my own photo or logo?
Yes. Send a high-resolution image or logo and we will advise on size, placement and how it will look on glass.
Which glass should I print on?
For doors, partitions and anything people touch, use toughened glass: finalise the size and holes, toughen the glass, then print.
Can printed glass be used in kitchens and bathrooms?
Generally yes when the design is on the inner surface and the edges are well sealed. Avoid harsh chemicals, and ask us about the right setup for wet areas.
